Tilbe Birengel
Biography
Tilbe Birengel is a Senior Associate in Erdem & Erdem’s Amsterdam office.
She advises clients in the areas of contract law, commercial law, technology law, banking and finance. Birengel who is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in Europe (CIPP/E), works on clients’ compliance projects in the area of European privacy and personal data protection.
She represents clients in international arbitration proceedings as party counsel and acts as the secretary of the arbitral tribunals. Birengel represents clients before Turkish courts and coordinates international litigation proceedings.
She obtained her Master's degree in European and International Business Law with cum laude at Leiden University in the Netherlands, where she studied as a European Union Jean Monnet Scholar. In her thesis titled “Shareholder Protection in Investment Arbitration”, she analyzed the indirect damage claims of shareholders in investment treaty arbitration.
Birengel received her undergraduate degree from Bilkent University Faculty of Law and minor degree in opera at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.
