The Resolution of the President Numbered 3866 Ratified the Singapore Convention on Mediation
The Resolution of the President dated 21 April 2021 and numbered 3866 on the Ratification of the Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (“Singapore Convention”) was published in the Official Gazette dated 22 April 2021 and numbered 31462.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted the Singapore Convention on 20 December 2018 and the Republic of Turkey signed the Singapore Convention on 7 August 2019 when the signing ceremony was held. Finally, the Singapore Convention came into force upon the Resolution of the President numbered 3866 on the ratification.
The Singapore Convention applies to settlement agreements which result from mediation and resolve a commercial dispute. Additionally, the convention establishes the principles on the enforcement of international settlement agreements.
