Istanbul Arbitration Week - ISTAW 2024
Istanbul Arbitration Week 2024 organised by the Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC), took place at the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus from 30 September to 4 October 2024. Many organisations and arbitration practitioners participated in this year's event worldwide.
On Thursday 3 October, Mehveş Erdem Kamiloğlu, one of our Managing Associates, took part in the panel discussion titled ‘IT in Arbitration: Enhancing Efficiency or Compromising Fairness?’. In addition to Mehveş Erdem Kamiloğlu, Dr. iur. Jan Šamlot from Law Offices Bělohlávek, Peter Plachy from A&O Shearman and the use of artificial intelligence in arbitration was discussed with examples from the sector in the panel chaired by Yonca Fatma Yücel.
ISTAW 2024 brought together arbitrators, lawyers, academics and arbitration practitioners from all over the world. This year, many sectors such as mining, agriculture, IT, especially investment and energy arbitration were evaluated in terms of arbitration.
