NEWSLETTER-2019-metin

PREFACE We are honored to provide you our new book, “Newsletter 2019,” as we are celebrating the 10 th anniversary of publishing our Newsletter book. Since 2010, at the end of each year, we compile the articles that are posted monthly on our website into a book to allow our readers a collec- tive outlook on the year’s key legal developments. We are very pleased to see that this book of articles has attracted growing attention from our clients, business partners, as well as fellow practitioners over the years. While the book has been well-received by many of our readers, we maintain our impetus to further develop and expand our work. Our most significant reward is to see that the articles published, both on our website, and in our book, are frequently cited in a number of scientific studies, and are now considered to be reliable academic resources. In our book, we have published our research in many new areas and subjects of law, developed in parallel to meet the needs of to- day’s business. Our Newsletter 2019 book includes 16 articles in the field of commercial law. In this section, we addressed issues, such as Incoterms 2020, which was introduced in September, 2019, and entered into force on 1 January 2020, the privilege to be represented on Boards of Directors, postponement of General Assembly meetings in joint stock companies, lack of mandatory bodies in joint stock com- panies, wholesale of significant amounts of company assets in joint stock companies, and the transfer of seized shares, as well as the 2016 York Antwerp Rules. We published seven articles on competition law.
